Vokhna
Published February 28th, 2008 in UncategorizedVokhna () was a village in Bogorodsky uyezd of Moscow Governorate (guberniya) in Russia. It was also known as Pavlovo, and later became a part of the town of Pavlovsky Posad.
Area around Vokhna was one of the closest to Moscow with a large percentage of Old Believers in the population. There are currently three parishes of Old Believers on the territory of Vokhna.
The toponym Vokhna could be also applied to the Vokhonka River that flows through Pavlovsky Posad and which is often called Vokhna by the natives.
